Further to our previous newsfeed on this, on 1 August 2022 the Cyprus Registrar of Companies (the “Registrar”) announced that an application for the issuance of a “Beneficial Ownership Report” is available on the Companies’ section of its website.
With an additional announcement on 5 August 2022 the Registrar reiterated that there will be no penalties for late reporting during the interim stage of the process. Any penalties to be imposed as soon as the final stage of the process is implemented will not have a retrospective effect. In the announcement it is also clarified that companies which in the meantime have been struck off the registry or which have been liquidated do not have an obligation to submit information to the UBO Register.
